My old RR6 finds itself as the subject of a magazine article. I owned her for 12 years from new. Never truly got on with her. A trip to the south of France in 2017 convinced me I needed to get rid. I was in agony on the alpine passes. Clutch hand fingers like prince Charles…. Test rode a ‘17 and was blown away by just how comfy it was. I’ve done as many miles on the ‘18 blade in 6 years as I did on the RR6 in 12. The ‘18 blade is a keeper as the best Fireblade ever. The RR6 I was offered back but declined despite the memories with my son as pillion on the Isle of Man. Far too uncomfortable.
Weirdly I find my '13 plate more uncomfortable than my old '06. That's why I'm selling it. I've bought a sit up and beg now, but am looking for an adventure bike.
I changed my 2002 R1 for a 2013 blade, The blade is so comfy, I assume it depends on your size and riding style, My wrists/back were killing after a R1 ride, no issues on the Blade
My old rrn has featured in a number of publications over the years from MCN , Superbike and Performance Bike both during my ownership and the the following owner.
I was one of several owners featured in Ride mag yonks ago (15 yrs?) when they did a Blade special. Rode over to Peterborough and started from there.
