    Another question..

What would cause the bike to crank over slowly when colder or not fully warmed up? When fully warmed it cranks absolutely fine.

It's already had a brand new lithium battery and it's always kept on a smart charger so it cannot be the battery.

Anyone else have this on a 2009 Blade?

Perfectly normal. If you’ve ever fitted a cam belt ,they appear to be pretty slack.
Cold everything is tight as things warm up they expand. Including the height of the cylinder, theoretically compression will drop.
But saying that electrical connections oxide and starters do wear out. Also 09 non abs has a tiny battery if it does the job it’s probably fine.

    Ah OK.

So this is normal for this model?

Mine is the non ABS and it has the lithium battery that is the equivalent of the standard bat.

    Assume so yes.

But to be sure what oil is recommended?

I use 10/40 or 10/30 usually depending on price and availability. Been ok so far.

below 5, lithium batteries become sluggish. try the usual battery warming up process

It's always better on warm days so that may be the answer.

Wondering if the old standard battery was duff and by coincidence the new lith battery is crap when cold??
