Just fitted a new set of chain and sprockets to my 2015 cbr1000rr. Bought parts from M&P, who have always provided quality parts in the past. DID 530 chain. Fitted today, and whilst the rear sprocket fitted perfectly, when I installed the chain, there is about 5mm of float on the chain when sat in sprocket? Pitch of sprocket is perfect, it just seem much thinner than previous sprocket? Pictures enclosed showing the extremes of the chain float.
I’ve contacted M&P to see what they say about it, but I’m not happy to ride it like this. Anybody else has a similar experience?
    Thanks
    Jeff

Looks like that's not a 530 sprocket mate. That's mine, 530 chain and sprocket.

Many thanks Charlie, I think the same.
I feel a battle coming on with M&P for a replacement sprocket!

I assume you have very little play in the chain on the sprocket?

Depends what you've ordered, if you've ordered a 530 sprocket and they've sent 520 then it will be simple. If you've ordered the wrong one then you might just have to take the hit and sell the sprocket as opened/not used and lose £10-15 on it.

Atleast it wasn't the wrong chain, that would have been an expensive mistake.

Yea, 520 socket width is 1/4" and 530 is 3/8".

    Yeah really annoying!
On their website, you input your bikes details and it brings up the correct parts. I’ve checked again today and both rear sprockets they list do not state if they are 520 or 530 sprockets. This sprocket was £25, the other, which is a renthall is over £50! Think I’ll be looking elsewhere for a correct replacement!

Just looked on their website, I see what you mean. That's got to be their fault then, if it doesn't say and you are ordering 530 chain you'd think they would send the right sprocket. I'm sure they'll sort you out if you ring them up.

Just an update on the outcome. M&P were great, and after realising they had incorrectly entered the sprocket onto their system correctly, they promptly sent me the correct JT sprocket! Now fitted and good to go!
