Any opinion on the superbikefactory as a dealer? Thinking of chopping the blade in for a BMW F900XR ,as my back isn’t responding to treatment.
    Thanks Broadie

I can't help with the bike shop, but out of interest, why the F900XR compared to other mid sized adventure'ish bikes?

Only 3 bikes have caught my eye:
Motoguzzi Mandelo ( bit of an unknown)
    BMW F900XR
    KTM SMT890. ( don’t really trust them)

Don’t really want 4 cylinders too fast don’t like or trust triples. if you think I’ve overlooked a bike let me know.

Loads of horror stories online. Bloke I work with had a bit of trouble with them putting problems right on a bike a few years ago too.

This link should take you to quite a shocking story in the comments (if it's true).

They will have some decent bikes though, it's inevitable.

I bet the F900XR is a bloody good bike for someone with a bad back.

    Mine came from there.
It was as described so I was happy.
    No horror story.

Despite possibly ruling 3 & 4 cylinder bikes, my favourites are:-
BMW F800GS / F900GS (smaller brother to the R GS adventure bike).
Yamaha 900 Tracer (especially the GT)
    Suzuki 1050 V Strom
And my favourite, the Triumph Tiger 800 or 900. Especially the 2019 onwards GT Pro.

Like someone said above - I heard alot of bad stories from the local bike community.

I heard they essentially take in bikes as PX then clean them up and put them on display. Once a sale is agreed they then carry out an inspection and service on the bike. You cannot test ride the bike before purchase but get 14 days no quibble return I believe.
Hence why they are so cheap- it’s a numbers game

I like the Mandello too. Wigan motorcycles are going to be a dealer for Guzzis in the new year, so I might go for test ride. I’ve recently had a test ride on a Ducati V4S Multistrada. I liked it but not sure about seat height for me, even on its lowest setting. I’m now wanting to test ride a Gold Wing (not a bagger), as I can get both feet flat on the floor with the Wing.

I bought my first Blade from Superbike Factory, a low mileage, 1 owner minter. Never had a problem with it and I did test ride it, but they were a much smaller out fit back then. Problem is now they've grown that big that they simply couldn't cope with demand for test rides.

They don't just sell part ex's that are shite though, they sell good and nearly new bikes too but you've got to know what you're looking at. I can tell within a few seconds if a bike im interested in is any good or not. My advice would be, if you've seen something you like and its in decent condition, low miles, service history etc then its got to be worth a look!! ;)

No I didn’t follow it up.
The idea of no test ride and having 14 days to find any problems. Seemed like a bad idea in January.
Also the thought of being lowballed.

So the plan is to get it out of storage quick clean up, charge the battery and get it advertised.

Thing is with Superbike Factory is that only the horror stories are put online for all to read. Yes I've read them and I've also got plenty of bike mates that are very happy.

Just don't expect the earth when buying, the bikes are always cheaper than other dealers and there will be a reason for that. Think of them more like a private sale with a smidge of back up.

And re your bike choice. Jus choose the one you like the look of

I've had loads of different bike over the last 30 years and I've enjoyed them all.

Going from a blade to a twin "sit up and beg" bike might bore you to tears though. If you must, go big for torque (you won't get power too unless you choose Ducati)

I know you say you don't trust triples but Triumph have been doing those for decades, and they do some great sit up bikes.

The new BMW XR is also good if you have the deep pockets for that. They cost a fair whack to buy and to maintain.

Also don't rule out a naked style bike. They aren't all the rage at the moment but they are mostly all super comfortable. Something like a huge Bandit, comes with a massive parts market. Cheap and bulletproof.
