Just recieved a letter informing me that i was cought doing 35 in a 30 zone by the camera at the end of my street. I cant belive it as i drive throu it twice every day I have got out of one of these before by asking for the photo so fingers crossed i might be lucky again. Although my luck is obviously out to be snapped at just over the limit in the first place Live and learn i guess
Last time i had 1 i ignored the first then asked for a photo and i had a letter back saying the charge is being dropped Worth a shot
Christ u need to be shot, think of the children! FFs 35 land speed record. Sorry just seems it's just a money making machine Hope u gt off mate or sorted ASAP
Oooo bad luck mate .... its sooo easy to slip up ... should only be 2 points on yur licence if the worst comes to the worst
Yeah it says that on the letter as its only 35MPH . I will gladly do that and pay a fine instead of having points
I think that you only pay for the course ... no fine as well Then they will explain the error of your ways .... you bad bad man
If thats an option then that will be great. If i was doing 50 then fair enough but 5mph over ? God im a Hooligan lol
tush tush ... :heh: My last one was 58 in a 30 ... stupid I know ... but it was one o them early 30's thats ages before any houses at 7am on a sunday
Can someone explain the point of these speed awareness courses ? As I see it you still have to declare a conviction to your insurance company. Most insurance companies don't charge extra for a first minor speeding conviction. The prolification of dumb cameras over police officers with discretion means thousands of generally safe drivers now have speeding convictions. So unless you are already on 9 points and looking at a ban why not take the 3 points and smile ?
As there are no points to add to your licence I don't believe you would need to tell the insurance company And the point is to re-educate the wayward speeder to change his (or her) ways :yes4:
Do you not get a conviction then ? ie. Nothing written on your licence at all. Insurance companies don't ask if you have points they ask if you have any convictions. For example you can get a speeding conviction resulting in a short ban but no points. If they still note a conviction on your licence but with zero points I'm not sure you can fail to declare that to your insurance company.
I'm 99% certain that nothing goes on your license with the course The 'penalty' is that you pay about £300 and give up your time to get a good talking to in a classroom with all the other miscreants
So is there anything recorded on your licence at all ? I'm still not sure I'd bother unless it meant the difference between a ban under totting up or not or a huge insurance hike.
Phoned my insurance and they said 3 points will not put my renewal price up. 6 points and over will thou
