Removing the HUGE Hero Blogs

    OK thoughts. I kept grinding down both sides of my hero blobs on the Trackday.

    If I remove them would that possibly result in me falling off the edge of the tyre? or are that that big due to the Standard Exhaust which I don't have on?

    Any tips from others who have removed them due to the same issues?

    And did you fall off due to to much lean?

    I don't think I can get over more without taking them off

    Take 'em off, then weld them to your toe sliders.

    take them off,but they are there to give you a guide of how far your leaning.(if your not using your knee that is.

    tbh,looking at your pic,you could do with moviing off the bike a bit as your very upright on it,that way you'll be able to gauge your lean with your knee,rther than grounding your pegs.

    ^^^^^^^ what he said^^^^^^^^^ going to end in tears with that lean angle, i done snetterton on my blade didnt touch blobs at all had the odd knee down, at cadwell once a instructor come past me and pointed to come in the pits so i did, thought i was in for a bollocking lol he said mate that is the most lean angle i have ever seen, he said if you carry on doing that and not moving off the seat and standing the bike up a touch it will end in tears, well he was right lol next trackday tyres let go rolled off the edge of them i learnt a lesson that day, move off the seat.

    Take em off and use your knee to gauge whats going on, I had the same issue as you and they came off and I have no issues my toe sliders or knee slider give me the info I need :)

    I agree leave the hero blobs and reposition your body.

    Not that easy after 2 major hip ops in the past 3 years, I am better on the lefts but rights I struggle to move and get my leg out.

    Something I need to try and work on if I can

    I've fitted the ones from cbr600rr they are about 1 inch shorter, they can still grind the Tarmac but less often.

    I'm sure you know the theory behind why we should try move our body weight into the turn = less lean angle for the bike = safer & easier to get on the power coming out. Looking at your photo, I think you have big balls; but you will be limited as to how fast you can get through the turns safely. With your restricted mobility, I would keep the hero blobs & use them as a guide to tell you that you are already leaning over quite a ways. You could try higher rearsets but I would still be worried about using too much lean angle to compensate for having trouble moving my body weight.

    You don't have to be dragging your knee or even pointing the knee out; just moving yout backside to the inside & lowering your inside shoulder would make a big difference imo.

    Lookin good out there all the same! :)

    I find this more effective than consciously trying to hang off in the traditional knee down sense. Drop the shoulder and point your elbow, torso and head into the turn. (Head and torso are heavy, so have a big affect).
