Having watched a few videos I'm like the sound of a quick shifter. Now I'm planning some track days in the near future and obviously on the track it will be awesome. But what about road use? Does it shorten gearbox life? Any info will be much apriciated thanks
I doubt it will make you any faster on the track tbh but the noise will give you grin factor..... I don't have one but have never heard of it shortening gearbox life
It will definately make you quicker on the track and more fun on the road. They are fantastic, speak to arthur and enjoy...
Well u will only be quicker if you have the balls to pin it and shift every gear full throttle, and we are talking next to no time between rolling off he throttle slightly and slipping the next gear so realistically with our limited abilities feck all will be gained. Would still like one myself for the bling factor though
Believe me, they make a big difference, even at my lowly level of riding. Great for fun and as you say slowr1der great fir bling
I love mine and only ride on the road no way a same spec bike can keep up without one, best mod I've done to mine! Gearbox ware is not an issue if you treat it right with or without a shifter, what's not to like about full throttle clutch less shifts! As said once you try one that's it you'll never want to ride without it.... I sell them so PM me if you want a price, I am a dealer for HM Racing and am proud of the HM Plus Quickshifter.
Q/S will make a big big difference on track, deffo. If you are pushing on speed/time wise, it smooths out the bike when changing gear and stops it getting out of shape. Anything that does this is a good thing. Its not always about changing gear when the throttle is at the stop. This means a quicker, smoother lap that equals a bigger grin on your track day. If this is your thing. IMO using one on the road, well its sounds nice but thats about it. I used to run one on my road bike but got a bit bored/frustrated with it as it always made me want to pin it everywhere, lol. This on my 1000 was just asking to either get banned or end up in the side of a Micra! I mean, there is no way I push as hard on a road ride compared to on track, thats chalk and cheese riding. I ended up just changing gear normally in the end and have now gone back to a normal gear change for the road. If you like comparing bikes/performance with your mates. In a brag/drag type race the bike with the Q/S is always gonna pull away quicker. At the end of the day, its your cash..............
