Wanted to get an alarm for the blade and like the idea of a Honda plug and play! (nice and easy)

Have seen the Averto for the RR7 (08E55 MEL 800C) but they want silly money for it >£225. Have seen a place selling new 08E55 MEL 800A, which are for RR4/RR5 for £80. Are they really going to be that much different or will this fit the later model? Did a lot of looking round the web, and a couple of places list the alarms as the same, yet honda say they are different.

    Thanks for any advice

Not sure if it fits but if it does that's a bargain.

Well bought one, was even cheaper! £59+vat, so worked out at £75 delivered. Will see how it fits, hopefully it has fitting instructions (but now i'm wondering!) I thought that there were few differences between the 05 and 06 (they didn't make a new workshop manual) Fingers crossed the only differences is a multiplug or something, but i'm more than happy to solder wires in so watch this space as they say!

Alarm turned up today, real quick delivery. Comes with full fitting instructions so fingers crossed its a pretty close fix between the years. Has wiring loom with connectors to pulse generator, main harness and kill switch, so hoping there isn't much difference between the years. As its all honda parts hoping they are colour coded so can trace the wires.

Might take me a while to muster up the enthusiasm to fit this so will let you know how it goes.

BTW if you've got an 04/05 this is a fantastic deal if you need an alarm!

Haven't got round to fitting the alarm yet, but tbh everything else that i've got that wasn't 06/07 specific isn't fitting! I thought the years were pretty similar but they arent! I would have thought this alarm may fit though, poss just a multiplug difference or something. Comes with full wiring diagram (for the 04/05!) Might give it a go at some point and let you know

It will fit plug and play to a 2004/2005, but i haven't tried it yet to my 2007 but i'm guessing it won't be plug and play as the later model has a different part number. Sure it will fit somehow, might just be a case of working out what wire goes where!
Got the alarm from David Silver's.

    tbh - to be honest.

I've sent a e-mail to david Silver, but still no reply.
if you search for rr4 then the site finds a alarm for rr4 but if you type in your rr6/7 model, no alarm at all?!

waiting for email reply, tomorrow a new email! :heh:

but where stands that it is the one for rr6:

    LARM SYS. !D

This part will be special ordered in for you from Honda.

Delivery time should be between 5 - 7 working days depending on stock availability from Honda.

*if delays are anticipated in sourcing this part we will contact you as soon as we can

But however, 250€ is really much for a alarm system, if the rr4 costs 90pound or so ?!?!

The part number 08E55-MEL-800c is for the rr6/rr7, part number 08E55-MEL-800a is for the rr4/rr5. Wouldn't pay 250 for it, handy its plug and play, but not worth that much. Retail price is around £350!

    Pfew what a rip off!
The rr4 costs 67 euro, and the rr6 costst 250 Euro?! what's the deal with that

I don't wanna spend 250 Euro if im aware that a rr6 alarm just costs 67 euro

Reply to my mail, i asked if they have alarm for 06/07

    Hello,
    *
I am afraid this part is discontinued and unavailable.
    *
    Regards,
    Nik.

From 1st June 2011, we will only sell parts for models which were sold before 2002. This will allow us to focus on the market that we specialise in, and hence provide a better service. If you require parts for models later than this, please contact your local Honda dealer.

Hi Bry 641 - The 800a is the correct one for the 04 and 05. I have ordered the same model and will pass on whether it fits the 06/07 next week. How much are you paying for yours?
