Welcome Boots, good to see another East Anglia member. Can’t understand why it’s not sold it looks stunning.
Welcome to the brother hood or sister hood my friend it's like marmite on here you either love us or hate us ! Any they're a top bunch of piss takers so enjoy lol
Cheers all. Nice to be here. So far she's on MCN, Autotrader, CB1000R forum, now on here and have just took the plunge and put her on E(take the piss with the charges)BAY. Although having said that I've got it as a classified ad so not TOO bad with the fees I think the problem is the weather. Lets be frank (or whatever name you like) it's been shite !!!!!! It's a good bike and everything but I just miss a sportsbike. I ride with a few mates now and then (and lets be honest we all ride a bit hard from time to time) and this really isn't the kind of bike for that. Would love to keep her but if I did, and bought my Blade (I say mine 'cos she will be !!!!) I would just end up at some point selling her to make room and then end up taking silly money. Dilemas dilemas. Got my juices running for the blade.
Have you rung around a few of the recommended dealers to get px valuations. Who knows, You could be pleasantly surprised, particularly if you're adding cash and getting a blade out their showroom. I was happy with the dealer money on my old rr8, I reckon just 300-400 less than a private sale with none of the hassle you're having/going to have. Good luck with the sale, and even better luck with the shopping!
Boots. +1 what 73 is saying. Have a word with either David (DP) or Addie (sales) at Marshalls in Peterborough. As is always the case they will drop you a PX bomb, then the sitting on the curb banging sticks starts till you are both happy. Last time I was in the dealership (last week) they had both brand spankers and a good selection of late used and what could have been unregistered last years model blades in the showroom. Bear in mind they are also suffering with the weather and not moving as many bikes as they would like or will have targets and budgets not being met. Got to be worth a punt and see what they say. If you have money they are going to want it, even if it is only turning over stock and reducing the overall stock holding value. Times are hard for dealerships at the moment. But as is always the case stick banging has to be done eye to eye its no good trying to do it over the phone as you cant tell when they the body language squeaking tells you that’s as far as they are willing to go. Bear in mind they won’t want you to leave the showroom without doing everything they can to get your signature on an order form. If you want to do a deal throw a few curved balls into the frame at the death and then you will know when they have reached their limit. At the end of the day you can always walkway, and they know that. I have purchased two new bikes from them. The first was hard work to put to bed, but the second was a doddle. Good luck.
Shameless check out Baron Von Grumbles latest rant on you tube, I think the demo bike he is on is a standard CB1000RA.
