About
Been riding on and off for 20 years, bike in order of ownership:
- Suzuki GSXF600 (my very first bike - felt very quick after the ER5 learner!)
- Suzuki SV650S (lovely, simple, character)
- Honda VFR800 (loved it and hated it in equal measure)
- Kawasaki ZX7R (favourite bike I've owned)
- Honda XR650L (when I could get it started, great fun)
- Honda Africa Twin (lovely - why oh why did I sell it...)
- BMW 1100RT (OK, felt heavy and slow)
- Honda ST1100 (current) (up to 100mph it will stick with most. Surprisingly good handling, comfortable, solid, smooth. ABS and TCS - not bad for in '01)
- Honda CBR1000R (RR4 HRC colours) (current) - Engine is strong (obv) but does need to be above 2.5k before it bogs down and gets clattery which was surprising. Gearbox is sweet. Front brake is as good as any new bike I've ridden including a new Kawasaki ZX6R 636. Suspension feels very firm, even from what I remember of my ZX7R and recent experience of the ZX6R 636, so have backed off the rear preload, compression and rebound a tad.Interact
