PAIR mod is the removal or disabling of the pulsed air induction system, it's job is to add fresh filtered air from the airbox into the exhaust system, it enters a small reed valve on the cylinder head (valve stops exhaust gas going back into the airbox) then goes down a small port and comes out just after the exhaust valve on the exhaust side of the valve it's job is to dilute exhaust gas and ignite any part burn gasses in the system reducing harmful gasses from entering the atmosphere. As the air enters the system after the combustion stage there are no performance gains in disabling or removing it other than it reduces clutter and weight. There is a solnoid that's controlled by the ECU to allow air to flow when the ECU asks. You can unplug it without any error codes. :) One thing worth knowing is the air gives a false AFR (air fuel ratio) reading to any sensors used in tuning, so dyno opps are required to temporally disable it if mapping the bike or the system will think more air is in the mix than there actually is! Also if running Autotune the same applies and it must be disabled...
