I bought these mirrors over a year ago and had been meaning to fit them to replace the terrible "carbon" ones the previous owner had left me (see below) My first attempt was to drill out an aluminium block to use as a spacer, which worked but was a pig of a job and looked pretty ugly. During lockdown I got myself a 3D printer and made about 10 iterations before I settled with these, they're made of PETG, which is hard wearing like ABS but far better suited for outdoor use. Fitting only requires 1 hole to be drilled in the fairing for the wires and 1 stepped hole directly into the mirror to allow them to bolt straight into to old mounting location. I'm thinking of making complete kits that are ready to bolt in if anyone is interested. May not be to everyone's taste but I'm thrilled with the new look. fg fgf
@Jon1000RR Could you also print something to fill the hole left in the fairing by the removal of the indicators?
@Jon1000RR awesome job on the design. Not sure if you could edit it for the 07-12 600RR. Fairly sure the spacing is the same as the older 1000RR mirrors. Was about to work on a stl file myself to 3D print to mount my 1000RR mirrors when I came across this post. If you don't feel like editing your stl and don't mind sharing your stl I would love to edit it for my 600RR. I know some people get iffy about sharing there STL files because people steal them for profit (had 2 stolen of mine that I found people selling).
I’m interested but personally would prefer them without the logos, let us know what sort of price they are?
I usually only like the stock mirrors on the bikes, somehow every change seems to be for the worse, aesthetically, however this looks very good!
