    Hi Lads,

First post on the Forum as a new member but have been on before a number of times i hope someone can point me in the right direction.

My bike 2005 cbr 1000rr 16,000 miles on clock will not start then will then wont.... on and on, when I turn the ignition the pump does not kick in until turning the ignition on and off a number of times, it will eventually start.

on this forum ive seen a number of people talking about the Regulator and and the stator, i stripped down the stator and seen it was burnt out. 275£ for both replaced them and now the bike will not start at all.

When the ignition is turned on at first there is a little alarm beeping coming from the hiss system at the back of the bike is it the alarm system fe*ked?

Note its also a brand new battery, i should also state that each time i leave the bike for some time the clock defaults to 13:00 hours.

any help would be much appreciated & let me know if any questions?

    Mick.

So you replaced the rectifier and stator at the same time? Was your battery new at the same time as the other new parts?

Had this problem myself but not on a blade, it was on my Aprilia, bit it' the same in principle.

Originally taught it was the battery so changed that, had no issues until the next week, so was told by honda and another mechanic replace both at the same time? So did...

What was the issue with the aprilia?

Battery kept going flat, so kept changing it for a new one. I thought it was the alarm which was draining it.

It was later that I found out the stator was knackered and the battery wasnt getting a charge while running so it was just eating batteries!

So if your battery was new before your new parts it's probably suffered irrecoverable damage. Best try a new one:)

The HISs system is not at the back and makes no noise.
Are you sure there not another type of alarm fitted?
Presume you have checked the kill switch? What about the side stand switch?
The fuel pump should come on straight away, so something wrong there. That's the first thing to sort.
    Has the bike ever ran?

Your right apoligies its the alarm at the back that has the faint beeps..

Kill switch side etc seems to be ok, as the fuel pump isn't coming on what should be checked the starter motor?

    Cheers

What make of alarm? Does it have an internal battery? Can you charge it up?
    Can you remove it?
The fuel pump is probably controlled by the alarm in some way - stop getting distracted, sort the alarm first.
You also failed to mention, has it ever ran? Have you just got it?
    Some history would help!

Have the documentation on it will have to dig it out, looks like it can be removed will have to take a closer look tomorrow and check everything you said above.

Ive had the bike the last 8 years only used for Sunday spins never had a problem 16k miles on it now.
