While taking apart my bike to get to the spark plugs, I was taking off my gas tank. I let it set back down while disconnecting some wires etc. When I did this the overflow/breather tube on the bottom of the gas tank ripped. Simple solution order another tube $5. Probably a simple answer, but when I took the torn tube off I noticed that one of the two holes on the bottom of the tank was filled with this white sediment looking stuff. Isn't both the overflow and breather tube supposed to be open? Just seems odd that there would be a hole in the bottom of the gas tank and it be plugged. Thanks.
From what I can remember the overflow comes from around the filler cap, so that should be open and only fuel should have gone through it, although the paint around the filler can sometimes corrode and may have been washed down the pipe. Not sure where the breather pipe connects, but that should also be open as these don't use a pressurised tank.
