Morning folks I took my 06 track bike to Rockingham yesterday, bike ran fine, well set up with ohlins rear and K-Tech front piston kit, it was the fisrt time I had rode it and was pleased with it, only a second off what I do on my old zxr Gearing is 15/46 which equates to -1+4 which was fine (actually the same as I had on the zxr), I would have gone quicker if the rear wasnt sliding all the time (should have changed the tyre Anyway, only thing that was a bit frustrating was breaking stability from speed, bike was a little unstable Perhaps its just getting used to it, no slipper clutch so I'll have to brake and blip more, I will probably up the revs a bit to help Any other advice to settle the bike on high speed braking would be appreciated Cheers Rob
My RR6 does the same even with a slipper clutch and some money spent on the suspension. It's a lot worse on my RR5 road bike though where I have to break much sooner, I put that down to the lack of a slipper clutch.
I have an RR5 and also had this issue. Fitted a Sigma slipper clutch and completely eradicated the problem! Gained loads of time due to not worrying about stability into a corner! One of the best upgrades to my bike along with the Brembo master cylinder.
Thanks for the replies guys I have rode my mates 600rr on track a few times and thats pretty much the same I'll have to change my riding style until I get a slipper, I suppose I have been a bit spoilt, my old nail zxr had got the best front end ever Rob
