Will a K&NAir filter off an 08-11 bike fit a 2012 bike? i've been offered one at a stupidly low price and before i buy it i want to make sure it will be the same
K&N are not a performance filter. Yes they last years and years but results on the Dynojet show pretty much 99% of the time zero improvement. DNA or BMC race filters free up a little power but you are talking a horse at most.
yes, thats exactly what i've always been led to beleive too. i'm only getting it as it's cheap and i can wash it out every now and then and save money on filters
Mmmmmm. Mate cheap is a reason to buy. Not an excuse for buying. Spend a few quid and get a decent filter. Standard filters can be easily cleaned as well and who knows anyone who has a bike with 1,000,000 miles on it?
Cheers, i can look at better filters now knowing that i can get one from 08 onwards Would a BMC Race Air Filter be any good? they are £85 and i don't mind paying that if it is worthwhile, The Bike is booked on the Dyno to have a custom map done in 2 weeks so have plenty of time to get the best filter to go on the Bike. Its only for Fast road riding and not really into Track Days on my own personal Road Bike
My blade has done over 90k and a K&N has been in it for most of that, and stopped all manner of things including a live bird from being ingested by the engine! They need a good wash every so often but no issues with power in my experience
An ordinary filter would stop a nbird and there are no power issues. No one said there was. But they dont do anything for the bike. On the dyno the drop maybe 1/2 a brake. No one would notice 1/2 a brake. They are old tech filters that are a waste of money. Simple as. BMC make a better filter that actually helps.
