08 won't start. Was fine a few weeks ago, sitting in garage on charger, now won't start. Turns over fine until the battery runs out, but don't think it's getting any fuel. Pump doesn't prime every time ignition is switched on. Do you think it's a fuel pump issue? Could a dodge battery cause these symptoms?
P.S. Also have PCV fitted but never had any issues related to it.

Kill switch? I know it sounds daft....but I did the same last week...turns over but doesn't fire?

I was scratching my head, took off the seat and messed with the wiring and fuse box.

It was the kill switch

Has the tank been removed? If so the possibilty could be the snap connector for the pump has come adrift hence no whirring from the pump to prime the injectors. The battery seems to be OK as its turning the motor over so after 5-6 stabs to start up the battery will die its only a 7amp/hr.

I would check the side stand switch now . If you can spray it in degreaser then contact cleaner or just plain old WD40

NT that would only be an issue if the bike was in gear I think

Is it an optimate charger mate?

Reason I ask is that. Kind of silly really. I've stuck mine on before and the light goes on the charger, so I think it's charging. Then a week or so later it doesn't start.

Only for me to realise I haven't switched it in at the wall ??? Hopefully it's just that mate but to be honest I wouldn't admit it on this forum. It might make u look daft like me :)

I'd prefer if you didn't post in my threads. It's hypocritical.

Charger is definitely working and the starter cranks. I think masterblader was on the right lines - seems to be fuel pump related.

The fuel pump sometimes primes, but I think the final whirring sound is missing. Sounds daft I know! Could a knackered battery cause the pump not to prime properly? The bike has stood in my garage since last use. N.B. It has been washed but I don't think this is a water issue.

I reckon its a weak battery not giving enough juice to fully power the pump

i would go down the battery route mate, although on a different bike i had the same kind of problem on my 08 R1. It was under warranty and took it back to the dealer, battery replaced and problem sorted.

Ben thats a GSXR thing lol
