Hi members I have a 2004 fireblade and a 2004 r1 trackday bike.recently I changed the profile of my rear tyre in my fireblade to a 19/55 17. Im a quick road rider anyway hence why I do as many trackdays as I can, does anyone know apart from the tyre raising the back of the bike up and quickening the steering up whether it will affect the handling etc in any other way?
Hi Anthony, we've discussed this topic to death. Don't mean to be dismissive but if you put a search in you'll find pages of info on the subject. Cheers dude
Better stability in corners and supposedly some instability in a straight line at speed, but never noticed it As above search the forum all your answers will be there
As above lots of info on the forum to help answer your question and why me and many others are now using 55 rears
Using a 55 the steering is slightly quicker with a better drop into corners.Does help with change in direction. On long corners the stabilty is better with more confidence to push.I have tried both on track I used a 50 at siverstone an old rosso corsa I had kicking about but couldn't quite get the hang of it into corners after using a 55 for so long.So sticking with a 55 from now on, it feels better for me.
