Hi all.. Just picked myself up a truely stunning rrn k reg blade today. Been after one for a while. The bikes been rebuilt from the ground up by an engineer. New casings, gaskets, disk , forks have been rebuilt ,bearings, stainless bolts , linkages , switch gear and yokes etc been powder costed. He's done a fantastic job. The engine has been fully serviced , new can chain, valve clearances etc. It starts on the Button, no knocks or bangs, doesn't smoke . It hasn't ran for 3 years . I picked it up today and took the tank off , oiled the bores and put some fresh fuel in and away she went .The bike currently has some Chinese fairings on In 98 colours and it looks well bit i want to take it back to original . He's given me all the original fairings plus the original tank . I'm after any advice or recommendations as to who or where I could get the Honda fairings repainted. Should I persist with the repainting or sell it on as a whole package and wait till one already painted comes up for sale? Hope you all like her
I need some help here..... CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE.........................................Anybody............I'm feeling faint..... There's a member here posting pictures on his intro thread without being nagged....... Can I get a glass of water, please.......
Well done with the piccies,we are on here are piccy whores Nice bike BTW There is one of those with an idiot riding on a gold n black one round my way.I wanna see if I can nab it off him before he kills himself on it.He tried the other day to impress the shoppers by revving it right up then it stalled.Watched him try to pull away 3 times before I told him he has left the side stand down Love to have one of those to keep as an investment.
My first Blade was one of those but in the Purple, Red & Black colour scheme on a 93 K Reg Cost me £7250 from Drayton Croft in Hinkley Lestershire! Shows how cheap today's Bikes are when you think a Blade cost that much 20 years ago. Got no actual pictures but I still have the original Honda Sales Booklet!
No, you're alright, it was just a bit of a shock seeing the bike you were talking about in the same post. It happens about as often as spotting Big Foot, or Megawatt getting the beer in.
Howdy dude and welcome to the forum. Had myself one of these back in my younger days, it was by far the best of my four different models over the years!
I suppose when you think what you get nowadays for your money it's not so bad.. Stikl in wish the wages had increased over 20 years! Only had a squirt round the back if my house. She pulls well and I think ill have some fun on it no doubt..i think every blade owner has a soft spot for the first one.
I think you should take it off him before he does come to some harm. It can be your good deed for the day
Top bike! These are supposed to be good - Spraybay | Immingham, North East Lincolnshire - they do the TT Legends bikes I think.
What was the original colour scheme? I had a March 1992 RRN on a 'J' plate red/white/blue cost me £6500 second hand in June 1993, kept it for eleven years until the 2004 Fireblade replaced it. The RRN was like a sofa.
TBH I found the original a Killer on the wrists and that 16" front wheel was well twitchy when pushing on. All good shit though!
I'm looking forward to trying it properly.. I've had a 95 fox eye and 2 rrws but never one of the first. The original fairings and tank I have are the red white and blue and think that's what I'll be going for if I keep it.. May have to take it to oulton park although the reviews from mcn were pretty disappointing.. I'm yet to meet a previous owner tho who said they weren't fun.. There's something romantic about it
Hi there and welcome to the site Lovely looking bikes you have there .. great find all done up an all
Mate of mine has had two bikes done by Rage Design in Warrington, looked really good but not sure if they're still around. He did get some respray work done by what used to be Spod in Warrington as well, think it's now called hammer n tongs.
I spent 3 years restoring mine; sold her last year. Original bodywork in good condition is very very hard to come by.
