OK here goes, I am new to Honda's so looking for some help. I have one of a pair of 2002 Honda Firehawk 954 BSB race bikes, see pictures. This is a pretty special piece of kit that cost close to £100k to build back in 2002. After its racing life the bike was paraded in South Africa where its engine went pop. I have just fitted a new 3000 mile engine so that I can get it back on track, however I have run into a problem and need some technical advice from any Honda techs that may be on here. To fit the standard road motor I needed to replace all the race electronics, Dash, CDI, Loom etc as the factory loom CDI all had military spec connectors and fittings, none of which match the standard motor. (I don't have the original race engine unfortunately) I have fitted a standard loom with all the appropriate sensors, relays, standard dash, ignition etc. however I cant get the bugger to run. when turned on the fuel pump primes, the clocks go live the fault light goes on and stays on, the engine cranks but doesn't fire, can anyone think of anything obvious before I strip end check everything.
HISS? race loom would probably bypassed this. If fitted now does key have chip? Probably already checked but who knows. Best of luck.
Pulled it all apart and re-connected everything and she's now a rummer. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10156002978259948 On to the Dyno now, then onto a track day.
