Seen a bike up the road for sale and was wondering if anybody has owed one and If yes what are they like? I would use it for street and 3-4 track days a year.
    Thanks Ducati.JPG

they are good bikes but I found the 748bp better handling.only good thing is you can usually
pick the 999 or 749 up cheaper as they didnt really sell well and ducati now admit the project
    near ruined them.

Great bikes, had one for 2 years , 2008 Xerox model, look great, sound even better especially with Termi`s but like a lot of Ducati`s can be hard on the wrists and backside, it got to the point that after 100 miles I needed a trip to the docs to sort out my back, and in the end that is why I swapped it for a blade.....

adjustable bars are a must on these bikes, mind you the newer version (848) is
    more comfortable than the blade

I hated that & the 999 when they appeared.

    Now, a mate has a black 999s & I love it.

I imagine the 749 feels a bit underpowered.

they run around 100bhp in stock format, I already had the 848 when I took the 749
out for the day so it did feel underpowered but then its the same if you jumped onto a bike with less bhp
than the blade.I just liked the handling on the 748 more and on the twisty roads it was eating up liter bikes all day.
only thing is it needs a ohlins damper or it can get into odd shapes.
