Helllo, I'm here on behalf of a friend. I'm currently helping him get his 2005 CBR1000RR (Repsol Replica) back on the road after over 11 years storage! I'm posting on the Intro forum first as I know what it's like to see people come on a board straight up wanting something without introduction - I'm on a couple of Kawasaki sites myself (ZX12R & Ninja H2 owner). I'm here to see if I can source an oem front fender/mudguard for a 2004/2005 CBR1000RR in the Repsol scheme. His has got a cracked right lower front section after a fight with a disc lock. I've repaired it temporarily but ideally an oem replacement is the only thing suitable for his bike as it's his pride and joy! I've looked on a few parts listings on the regular shops but seems to be an out of stock item. There are a couple of aftermarket sites offering what seems to be decent copies but never quite sure of them. I'm in South Australia. Any help gratefully accepted, even if it's to tell me I'm out of luck! Cheers, Don.
Well, at this stage I've been able to take the original guard to a reputable painter and repair bloke who does a lot of insurance and custom jobs here. He has been able to plastic weld the crack, while retaining the michelin man & repsol stickers! He will prime and repaint plus clear coat the whole guard. This may negate the need for another guard, as they seem to be extremely rare! Cheers, Don.
Just to formally close off this thread, I got the repaired guard back and it's great! The repairer did an excellent job, now it's properly repainted and clear coated again!
