My friend has a 2005 blade and 2 years ago he suffered the common stator failure, he had it replaced and it has just gone again, was there ever a fix for this problem or is there an aftermarket stator than will cope better than the origional. Is it worth replacing the R/R aswell or just stick to sorting the stator out
Yea I think it needs to be replace with the R/R at same time from what I have heard. I believe Honda do it as a pair for not a lot more that the stator only
Mate has a 2010 CB1000r with same engine, his has just burnt out... The 2008 Blade one looks different so don't think it will fit
You need to replace the stator and flywheel with the updated matched OEM pair. Circa £350.00 for both parts from Honda. If you just replace the stator it will burn up again. It's a common fault with this year and nearly everybody on here with an 04-05 Blade has suffered with this at some point, myself included(if you haven't you're on borrowed time) It may have taken the reg/rec with it, maybe not. The third stator burnout in mine took the RR with it, so you may be lucky.
