2008 rr headlight unit

Hi everyone I’m new to the forum.

I need to replace a scratched headlight unit on my 2008 rr.

I’ve acquired a second hand unit that was listed as in good condition, when it arrived however I found one of the fixing lugs missing.

My original unit has no damage to the lugs.

Does anyone know if the units will come apart so that I may utilize the two good parts?

 

You can use the oven or a hairdryer to separate th headlights apart
And swap the backs.I would have repaired the headlight rather than
Order a new one.it's quite easy.

 

Thanks for the reply. Is the oven used to soften the white compound once the four bolts are removed?

 

It allows you to remove the front lens so you can swap the two round..
Just don't heat it too long .think there is halo install guides that show you
