    Hi
my 2010 cbr has almost done 10k miles, I was wondering if its worth while doing a fork oil change or maybe some other recon of the forks.
Im not sure if im getting handling issue, I don't really have much to compare it against, this is my 1st litre bike.

If I would benefit from an oil change, can some one recommend a good place in or around west London, M4/M3 corridor ? thanks

Not sure about a place to get them serviced but its recommended they should be serviced and fork oil changed every 7500 road miles.

You do the oil change yourself ?

How difficult is it to do ?

Not very. As long as you are competent in removing your front suspension and have the stand to do so and some suspension tools then it is easy. If you have none of these then best left to a dealer.

Can i ask y they have to be done every 7500 miles?? Seems really excessive to me??

Me R6 done 55k miles in 4 yrs n none of the forks or shocks needed attention, even the bloke who bought the bike couldnt fault the suspension either

And wot idps the rypical cost of said fork oil changes???

The suspension oil has a very hard life, it has to lubricate and cool the suspension when you ride the bike, thousands of oscillations a ride believe it or not, and it breaks down like any other oil that has a life on your bike. It also contains all the small particles of metal that your forks produce due to friction of day to day wear . Leaving contaminated oil that has become broken down to shear factors in a wear environment is not good for longevity of said forks .Racing fraternity change their fork/shock oil per race .

Makes a big difference I can tell you even on a new bike. I run synthetic 10 weight oil and compared to the original Honda stuff it transforms the handling by 80%.
