    Hi

I'm very new to the fireblade life but one thing I've noticed is ony 2010 model after riding 45 miles, my god do I have a numb bum.

    Anyone else have this issue

At first I was thinking a similar thing, but I hadn't been on bikes for 17 years so I persevered, and now it's not a problem. Maybe you just need to get used to it? If not there are options.

Get a secondhand eComfort seat and/or wear padded cycling shorts under your leathers.

What I mentioned above or go down the route of getting a trimmer to customise a seat with gel pads

Depends on your build too. That's more polite than asking if you're at one end of the spectrum or the other - rasher of wind or fat as my mother used to say . I often use the Forcefield shorts I bought for mountain biking under the leathers and they have some padding in the right places but I'm on my 6th Blade and I got used to the feel of the seat quite quick. If you can't then the suggestion of a comfort seat is your best plan. Depends on how long the longest trips you intend to go on. Mine are about an hour or so between stops so it's not much of a problem. YMMV.

numbness can be causes by vibration / buzzing or poor circulation.
if it is vibes, then try to find the reason for it mostlycaused by engine vibes.
If you are skinny in the bum department, then extra padding will help.
Poor circulation canbe either genetic or you posture on the bike. Experiment with repositioning yourself on the seat and putting more weight on the footpeg

Lol I'm the skinnier end of the spectrum, and do about 100 miles a day, so riding can be 2.30 to 3 hrs a day. I don't thinky bum has time to recover so makes it more obvious lol.
I think a comfort seat sounds the best option

There seems to be a lot of variations on the market, i don't want to buy the wrong one.
