Testing the water...do people still do that?

Have you checked similar bikes on eBay? £8 sounds good though..

You need to sell before weather changes..otherwise would be better to wait till next summer.

Good luck with the sale, as Sam said look at ebay and autotrader for comparison as newer bikes with similar miles are going for 8k

If I'm correct, yours will be an 09 model, registered 2010. It's my dream bike, but at that sort of money, it's well out of my league!

Sorry fella, it's a long way out of my budget.
Was just trying to establish if it's an RR9 model or an RRB model (they only manufactured Repsols on uneven years, i.e 2009, 2011).
But regardless, it's a stunning bike fella and a credit to its owner.

Hi if you part exchanged at a stealership they would give you £6000-£6500.

You have to deduct 10%-15% off the dealer show room price for a private sale :)

just found my dream bike... Search for yours via Auto Trader #DrivenByMe
    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201509016523602?atmobcid=soc3

Manufactured 2 years later, with the nice can, but been on the market months. He'll never sell at anywhere near that price because 7000-7500 will buy a nice 2012 model HRC, with more modern styling and better suspension.
I've watched the market for months and the guys are correct, advertise for £6500 and expect offers of £5500-6000.

The problem is the price is taking into account the extra bits. A dealer will never pay for extras so the bike is only worth £6000 to them. I would argue tho that private would be 10-15% less. In my opinion a clean low miles bike would fetch nearer the same price as a dealer if not a few quid more, therefore my offer stands. Stick it back to standard and sell the bits.

I wouldn't normally comment on a for sale thread but perhaps this will help. First up, lovely bike..if it is mint then get some good hi-res photos, taken somewhere nice and put it on ebay etc. I just bought, then sold on there after getting some help from this forum.

I was looking at Repsols online for approx 8 months prior to buying. I do think £8k is keen for a 2009/2010. Only changes on a 2010 bike are black subframe and black clock surround I think. In 2011 they got better crank and flywheel. Then big changes for 2013 Repsol as others have mentioned.

2 dealers privately said to me they have to make £800 each way on bikes, so £800 on a trade in and £800 on a bike sale. So you can see how much you will save buying and selling privately.

When voleracing said 6000-6500 he was saying that is what a dealer would give you as a p/x. Then they would price it up (probably 1k) and this is what you would take 10-15% off for a private sale figure. Least, that's how I read it.

Lastly, there are some overpriced bikes out there. Check out this near me, nice bike but how much over the odds ?

She looks stunning mate, good luck with the sale
Price may be a little high but for someone looking for a low mileage Repsol with all the bits added, its got to be worth it.
