I was looking at doing this before my track day. not I have lossesed them to put a new screen on but any difficulties before I try and remove them? i'm going to get some blankers ( anyone recommend a place?) just thinking how easy is it to disconnect the wires thought I would ask before I try
Very easy to disconnect the wires 5 mins at most, I have some home made mirror blanks which you can see in the Caldwell Park pics in my profile, your welcome to borrow them, I could post them up to you if you PM your details, obviously I would need them back Or the only company I know doing them are Rizoma CarpiMoto - Rizoma mirror hole Caps for Honda CBR 1000 RR 08- which are very nice comes to £32 from them hope this helps
cheers bud just found these http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/Honda/CBR1000RR_Fireblade/2010_ABS/MBP0007BK.aspx
They are nice, at the time no one did blank plates for the blade so my mate threw these together for me just to hold the fairing, I think I may have to invest in some of those for the next trackday look a lot neater although my ones did the job just need to be thinner
It would be nice if there was a company that did a smaller neater version of what we have i know it would restrict the rear view a touch but when i look at the bike front on its the mirrors that spoil it .ps sorry for nipping in with this .
^^^^ Agreed ^^^^ I was reading a thread on the KTM SD forum where a guy had fitted a rear camera and screen to the bike and got rid of the mirrors looked good but very expensive and less room on the blade to do it. There are those rear view helmets which let you see behind which would allow for the mirror removal as they are not required for MOT. Or the mirrors on the bar ends but again restricted view, I have been pondering what you could do to tidy up the front end ??
A mate of mine has some on his 999 and i think they came from France anything would be better .I will give him a call.
Jamie the company is called Cyccon sport i have been on the web site and they look tasty however for the fireblade the current web page shows upto 05 model but there may be more
A guy off another forum Andyburgh i think? well anyway he didnt have mirrors on his Suzuki, ill see if i can find some pics, also no indicators it was an ex race bike, sure if i remember it correctly the bike itself won the Suzuka endurance he had a day time MOT? edit, found it, hes on gixerjunkies take a look, http://www.gixerjunkies.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107750 Edit Edit found this on youtube review mirror built in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYFla-d1lKA
