I fitted some 2012 forks on my 2011 Repsol a couple of weeks back. I had my first long ride today out to Elan Valley and back via Craven Arms to Redditch so a really good mix of sweeping high speed bends and some tighter bends on the more twisty stuff. I've left the setting stock with the exception of the preload which I've slacken off by two turns as I only weight about 11 stone with my gear on. The sag is about right.

I've had a cable tie on the fork slider and after all my heroics on the bike today there is still about 35-40mm of the suspension not being used. I realise I still need to have some play left otherwise it would bottom out. I'm thinking I need to reduce the compression a little and then check the rebound is still OK.

I am planning a trip to get this sorted by a professional but this wont be for a few weeks so in the meantime I'd like to know if any 2012 owners have improved their settings from stock?

I know we all ride differently and are different weights but I'd still be interested to see what other 2012 owners experiences are.

    Cheers - Steve
