From the reviews I have seen so far of the "new" 2012 Blade, it is consistently reported that the new ECU has a new map which is better than the previous model. Is it possible this map could be used in the 2011 Blade? If so, would Honda have to re flash or could it be done by other means?
I've asked my local Honda dealership this very question and they tell me that it isnt possible remap the 08-11 blades with the 2012 map
Also not quite sure what you guys mean by run that map...? I guess you mean the same fuel and ignition mapping (as in a cheap/free tuneup?).. If so you can remap your bikes to the same spec by means of PCV or Bazzaz but you would need to know what AFR and ignition timing the 2012 is running and what would be the point as the 2012 is governed by the same EuroBull that older models are so you would gain nothing also without profile info on the new 2012 cams etc you would never know if Honda have made fine tweaks with the motor (cams, crank, flywheel, porting..)....what they say in the press is one thing and what is shipping and written in part numbers is another.. Even side by side on the Dyno I doubt you will see any more mid, tbh you would see more of an advantage with those fancy new wheels as less gyroscopics will pay with your mind if your test riding a 2012 v 2011..
Early Dyno results showing very good midrange boost Arthur, I'm Also told the velocity stacks are different.
You would know better than me mate as I have not seen one in here yet but thats my point they dont put out whats changed in tech form so until someone like you says "the stacks are not the same etc" you will not know where the new mid is from..
