I managed to purchase a new showa 2012 rear balance shock yesterday from Padgetts Honda and thought you might like my views into how it fits on my 2009 Blade. For a start the old shock unit weighs 2.6 Kilos, and the new showa unit weighs 3.1 kilos so it is heavier. Fitment is the same with no nasty issues so that is a plus, but the only thing that will not fit is the plastic splash tray that stops crud from hitting the shock, it will not fit due to the showa unit being slightly fatter and sloping towards the rear wheel. I have not had a chance to ride it yet due to the snow but will report to see what improvements it makes. Also while i write does anyone know what the standard settings are for this unit as i am not sure that it is on it's standard settings although he did say that it has not been changed.
