DON'T DO IT my Speed triple had similar wheels to the new blade. Ok it was single sided But was a bitch to clean. Why I love the 3 spoke on the blade. looks good and simple to clean
I really like the 2012 wheels but £1000 is way too much IMO. You can by brand new dymag UP7's on offer at the moment for £1050 + Vat and second hand / nearly new high performance forged wheels are cheaper than £1000 so their to expensive for me, I reckon £600 is more reasonable. The other thing to remember is they are actually heavier than the 3 spokes fitted to 08-11 models.
Your forgetting the value of standard wheels to superstock/club racers who cant use aftermarket wheels, when the 08 blade cam on the market folk were paying 1400 quid for a set of wheels that you could buy for 1100 new from honda, such was the demand. i already know off 4 lads who expect delivery of there blades for above uses ASAP and are hunting for wheels. As for the myth that some people are saying the wheels being heavier, its only that, a myth, ive held both sets AND now of a certain race team running superstock blades who have weighed them and they are considerably lighter, even the discs are lighter than 08/09 discs. Ill try and get exact figures but can confirm 100% they ARE lighter, as this was one of the requests from superstock racers.
