Hi guys, Do I need any special tools to remove my front wheel on my 13 blade? Thinking might need a big Alan key to remove the axle? Or is it not threaded? Cheers!
Not needed to remove once its undone you can tap it out, you can get away with fitting without it too usually if it spins just nip up the pinch bolts, release after to centre the wheel then re tighten They are cheap so I bought one off eBay £6 ish
been a while and hoping it's not much different to my 11 plate but I just used a 17,19,21mmm what every size to remove the nut. Un done the the pinch bolts and did the same when putting it back togeather. and just torqued up to the recommended settings
You need to realign the front wheel once you put it back in, otherwise your pads will drag. Nip up leg bolts on one side as per the manual, then pump the fork up and down a couple of times, to settle it all, then tighten up the loose side. Check the caliper clearance is correct to the disc on both sides.
removed both wheels for the first time the other week. Removal was a doodle, I was on my own so nearly bust a gonad putting them back. Spacers dropping out, axle not aligning etc... anyone got any tips?
I have bought some captive spacers which stay with the wheel instead of falling out !! Just as you think you've got it ... Not fitted yet but will let you know how they help or not, a lot of racers use them to make life easier
Captive spacers are a must for anyone changing wheels on their own, especially if you're like me and lose ya rag easily with inanimate objects for no good reason!
Any chance you could measure those captive wheel spacers for me please ? I want to machine up a set and it would save me a little time in that I will not have to remove mine to check sizing.
