Was looking at getting a set of 2013 wheels and found these New Rear Wheel Rim Set Fit Honda CBR1000RR 2012 2013 2014 | eBay I wonder how strong they are and what type of testing they went through if any Good price tho
They might be visually exactly the same as oem honda wheels but I bet they haven't had the same amount of testing!
Performance bikes has a test of standard gsxr against a chinese wheel in it this month. i have not read it yet but i think it faird quiet well from a quick scan over.
I wouldn't buy them. The Chinese ones were heavier and did not perform as well as the OEM wheels although they were classed as 'acceptable' but the bearings weren't up to standard.
In a former life I used to repair alloys, I have seen some very good reps and some horrendously poor quality reps. I would hate to be riding a bike on the latter when the front collapses.
Someone I used to work with had a "cheap" alloy on his car back in the late 80's. He kerbed it one day, and then a week or so later was going down the autobahn at a fair lick and the wheel basically exploded. Saw the damage he suffered and would dread to see the same result if it happened on a bike.
Same here stay well clear if u value your life ,look what happened to Robert dunlop and they were a reputable wheel won't name manufacturer as some of u will know it was well documented ,stay well clear
Not me!.....My tyres/ wheels are last tiny point of contact with the Tarmac, I have the same philosophy with cheap ditch finder tyres.
Some wheels by good wheel manufacturers are splitting on cars.So chinese wheels would defo not be put on my car let alone on a bike.Strewth!! I'd be shitting a brick going round corners.
I've had an alloy wheel on the car fracture before, thought I had a puncture till I took it off and found a 3 inch crack
