thinking of trading my 2011 repsol in for a 2014/16 sp model the only problem I might have is I go to the TT every year using Kriega dry packs one us30 and two us20 all on the rear seat, the question I have is will I be able to use my pillion seat with the kriega on the lighter subframe and will it take the weight although there not overly heavy, thanks in advance for any replies

Well the recommended limit on the sp tail is 5kg. Whether you want to risk it or not is your choice :)

Just confused about this according to Honda specs 2014 sp subframe is only 300g lighter than standard one but abs bike and non abs bike share same subframe but abs bike has a larger battery which is about 250g heavier so negates weight difference in that area surely 5kg is a bit meagre, for arguments sake what if one rider is say 80kg and another is 100kg there must be tolerances built in for this

I have used a Ventura Rack with 30 litre pack for 3 trips to the alps without any issues.
Subframe not designed for a passenger but some luggage wont be a problem.

I think it goes on total carry weight too, I think the SP is around 120kg where the normal is 180kg ...don't quote me on exact figures though

You should be fine. I wouldn't go fitting a pillion seat and pegs, but some luggage shouldn't snap the subframe.

I've got all Ventura kit but my setup is for an Aprilia. I know I can get the fittings for the new bike but how does it fit? Do you need to remove the tail tidy, or is it a straight bolt on?
    It's a 2015 Sp.
