Just a few pics no write up. Mine before the off. Washed, polished and waxed. DSC09344 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr Meet up with David and Ray. Milnthorpe Spar petrol station, 10:30am. DSC09345 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr About 50 miles later, we're at Hartside Moor. DSC09346 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr A brace of 'Blades and a Triumph DSC09348 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr We saw his bike but no sign of Dani DSC09349 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr Ray on the left (Fireblade), David on the right (Triumph). DSC09350 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr I don't think the colour is quite Repsol but near enough. Chinese? Maybe. DSC09351 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr Dani, leaving but I never got his autograph. DSC09352 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr Our bikes DSC09354 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr There seems to be a few of these about but I might just be photographing the same one over and over again. On our way to Kielder. David sorting the sat nav. DSC09357 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr A biker had had an off and we were held up for about half an hour whilst the helicopter took him to hospital. Fortunately not life threatening, but I don't think he'll be riding that GSXR again. It was a bit of a mess. DSC09359 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr Two 'Blades waiting patiently DSC09360 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr We found out there was both police and ambulance helicopters on the scene. The ambulance crew were videoing the incident and after the rider had been removed the police started getting out the tripod to start surveying the area. DSC09369 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr It was ages before any of the other bikes that were held up in the queue saw sense and decided to join us at the front. Although we just missed getting through in the first place by seconds. DSC09371 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr After they'd finally let us through it wasn't much further up the road to our destination Kielder Water. A nice cafe here but choice is poor and it's not cheap at £6 for a sarnie. Kev's tip: buy one and share as they are quite big. DSC09372 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr The 600RR wasn't with us but it looked nice in red DSC09375 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr Nice view from the cafe overlooking the lake. DSC09377 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr Cafe scenic balcony DSC09380 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr loo break for me. DSC09382 by Kevin Rushforth, on Flickr When we filled up for some reason Ray's bike had used over a litre more than mine (over about 140 miles), bit odd as both bikes are standard, same year and same colour (lol). As part of our return leg we managed to just get into Scotland before returning down the A7 to Penrith. Then the A6 to Milnthorpe. All in all, a great day out. I did 225 miles and I think Ray and David might've done a total of 300+ miles each.
