Hi all Went to start the bike today and no noise from the fuel pump after turning key After the initial panic( pump knackered) I pulled the relay out and replaced with the fan one and it worked Put the relays back again and it worked So is there any common relay faults Thanks
That sounds like a corroded contact that re-established itself once you'd replaced it. Take the relay back out and look at the contacts, if they are dull, get some isopropyl and a cloth to clean them or last resort a bit of sandpaper. It's more likely the female contacts in the relay holder are the culprits though.
That’s the funny thing the contacts on the relay and in the box are like new You would not believe they had been fitted
Had it just worked itself out of its seating slightly somehow? Sounds unrealistic I know, but did it feel different pulling it out the first time as to when you were swapping them back over
Really strange as well I went past duxford today and for a split second the bike cut out and the hiss light and I think the fuel and engine management lights can on then it all kicked in to life again
