Hi lads a mates asked me to put his standard can back on tomorrow, got no problem with installing it all apart from the cables and connecting them back up to the servo, is there a certain position I need to set the motor too to install the cables as I don’t want to set any lights off on the dash!
I brought my bike with a racefit fitted but was thinking of reinstalling the standard exhaust for a track day. Fitting the exhaust looks simple enough its just the cable to the exhaust servo that Im not sure of. Any suggestions or tips? Did you get another bike Glen?
It’s not a necessity to refit the servo cables if you put the standard can back on. I have the standard silencer, but disconnected the cables, removed the servo and fitted a servo eliminator to stop any error messages. Only did it to get away from the annoying sound change generated by the valve opening and closing at whatever revs/speed it was.
Thats helpfull Boothman, so if i dont refit the cable the bike will run just fine but i may get an error message? I need to look to see if a servo eliminator was fitted by the previous owner.
If you aren’t getting an error currently I’d expect there is an eliminator fitted, or if the servo is still installed someone has done something to it to stop it from keep on turning.
Sorry about posting on this oldish post, I have an 2018 CBR100rr sp, replaced the standard exhaust with a Yoshimura slip on, left the servo motor in place without the cables attached to it, no error codes at all, bike runs perfect no dash lights, run the bike for past 12 months like this, can anyone explain why they are paying money for a "servo eliminator", have I missed something here, is there any benefits to be gained? I would appreciate your comments. Steve
Yeah you can remove the servo mechanism to save weight. Not a biggie in many cases but could be useful if stripping out a lot of the other useless stuff
done my 19 plate exhaust removal nearly 12 months ago, left the servo in place with just the cables disconnected,no issues at all.Today coming back from a run light came on dash and dtc code 35,EGCV error.bike bogged down in limp mode. servo eliminator ordered .Tomorrow will be stripping the servo off the bike.
Hi Karl, have you removed the cables completely? Mines covered 7,000 miles with the slip on exhaust, no servo eliminator, no lights on, yet.
Hi, Cables might have moved or hitting something when activated by the servo. Remove them, keep the servo connected, not sure if you will need a reset to turn the light off, please let me know how you get on.
well servo came off easy enough and servo eliminator fitted, put it all back and light was still present.tried the jumper trick in the dtc cable and now got this
Have you knocked the fuses or the battery cables, may be when you used the jump wire, for the reset, you have shorted something else and blown the fuse, give them a check. Try putting the servo back on.
yeah popped a fuse, changed it, all came back on,still got the check engine light, dtc now showing code 34,previous 35,server eliminator from healtech,
