Hi All help Installed a quick shifter today followed all instructions it initialised properly, turn bike off when out for a spin its no working, No up shift and no downshift then the engine warning light came on any clues anybody it’s like it’s not there Computer says it’s installed and on under the gears number on the dash. Set the level up to level 1 and down to level 1
I would clear any faults you got by carrying out a dtc clear using the jumper in the odb port under rear cowl. Check again. Go through all the plugs and settings and check that you got your shift rod bang on angle wise
Been told it’s the clutch switch on the clutch levers as as fitted AVS levels the system doesn’t like iit. I’ll try the standard leavers in the morning and let all know if it works. I be amazed if a lever make a difference
It makes sense if the system even senses that the clutch is pulled in (due to a different casting process of the levers) the ECU will think the clutch is pulled in and will then not allow the QS to work.
All sorted forgot to put the bloody little clutch switch peg on the AVS lever. It’s on now and all working and it’s bloody magic I’m a t...t
Stewart - glad you got it sorted. Out of interest, how easy was it to install and how much is the unit on its own? I’ve got a 2018 blade in January but just couldn’t stretch to getting the QS fitted as well (London insurance premiums..) but would like to get one in a couple months. Thanks Andy
Very easy to install, and works great now I’ve sorted the clutch switch issue which was my fault. If you have standard levels it won’t be a problem. Get one it changes the bike goes though the greats like knife though butter. Don’t forget you need to put the ECU in learn mode, that’s what I call it Video on YouTube
Huh? Are you saying that you'd be charged a higher premium just because of a quick shifter? If anything, it should be a lower premium because their is not rider attention diversion to the clutch operation. Well, that's what I'd be replying with!!
I’m sure they would charge more but meant that my insurance is so high living in London (despite a tracker and keeping it in a garage!) that I couldn’t afford the £650 odd for a snifter when I bought it
