any ideas ? , went out on the bike everything seemed ok , until i set off in 1st gear hit 10 -11 k revs went up into 2nd then it just died and cut out , i managed to pull over off the road engine light was on , so i turned it off and on it started but would not respond to any throttle , turned it off and on again started it but went straight up to 4k revs so turned it off , anyway it did go back to normal but i turned round and limped it home , could it be summat to do with the battery ? , thanks for any info on this .
I don’t think your battery would cause your start up rpm to somehow reach 4k. A vacuum leak or tps sensor ? Check for any leaks and do a quick voltage test on your sensor as preliminary checks. Voltage closed 0.5V open 4.5V. Best check those figures ! Best of luck mate
Sensor requires multimeter. Not sure where your models located. But when you’re there it’s just a case of measuring the DC voltage. You tube probably help you out if your uncertain but definitely doable mate. If your in there with a meter now is the time to check the cmp sensor. This is the cam pulse sensor, another possible cause. Vacuum leak means a tank lift/removal for inspection of the area below. Possibly all sounds daunting, but we’ll worth having a go.
Not really mate, a different tone would make me look at a vacuum leak. Has your bike had an exhaust mod done to it ?
