hi guys ive bought a 2017 blade and not been out on it much but definitely noticed the stutter that people talk about, ive since parked it for the winter and stripping it down for a good clean and tweaks, im going to take into somewhere in spring for a remap ideally somewhere north west like p3 tuning but before I do that ive got a race fit can ive fitted and want to remove the cat, is there any other things I can remove like pair valves or the flappers like the earlier bikes had if they have them?
also what air filter is recommended, want to do all these bits before I take it in to get it tuned accordingly.
anyone else had experience with your 2017-19 fireblade!

Hope you like a loud bike, race fit exhausts are very loud, I had one on my blade when I bought it , took it off as it was horrendously noisy.

The SC77 runs pretty lean out of the box. I wouldn't run it for long before getting it mapped if you remove the cat and fit a RaceFit end can. The cat is in the headers so it's either a set of race headers or modifying the existing set if you want to remove it.

Cheers lads yeah I ran a racefit on my last blade without a baffle in and always came home partially deaf, might put the baffle in this one to try and reduce it a tad but if not at least I don’t have to listen to the missus when I get back
I’ve had a look and gonna take the headers off to give them a good polish but I’ll chop it out and weld a section in place.
I believe the cats are quite free flowing on these but if it doesn’t need to be on there I may as well chop it out!
Is there anything else I can get rid off, is it worth blanking the pairs or will having them switched off with the remap do the job?

I had an Arrow end can and the baffle knocked 10hp off. Without the baffle it was the same peak hp as the original exhaust.
There's no intake flapper on the sc77 and pair block off does nothing to the power. They're prone to pre-ignition so go for an ecu reflash with Woolich rather than a power commander or similar, as they can sort the ignition timing too.
What mileage are you at? I had mine reflashed trying to sort out the low end running and then had to replace the cam chain tensioner. The new tensioner made a big difference at low revs so i now need to go back to the dyno and get it checked.

Hi pal thanks for the reply, the bikes done 5500 miles, so far I’m thinking of fitting the decat sleeve in place of the cat to go with the racefit can, I’ll get an air filter of some sort maybe dna air filter as that’s what p3 tuning seem to recommend, then I’ll get them to switch off the usual emission stuff and map it and hopefully it will a lot smoother then!
