    After a couple of rides over the weekend i have had the gear lever stay in the up position for a few seconds after up shifting. I have noticed this as i have felt it hit my boot as it has come back down.
    The scenario is that i’ll be accelerating, i’ll then upshift holding the throttle steady, it will go in to gear ok, i then move my foot down and a couple of seconds later i feel the lever hit my boot as it returns back down. This only happens occasionally.
    I can’t think that it is my boot or anything snagging the lever and it feels normal and not binding when i operate it by hand.
    The lever is in standard position, i haven’t adjusted it at all. It feels ok where it is and i am getting it in to gear ok. I might adjust the lever up a bit and see if that helps.

    Anyone else had this happen or know the cause?

    This has happened to me a few times and everytime it does, I check to see the gear levers still there as I keep thinking it's snapped and flew off hitting my boot in flight. Dunno what it is either.

    Fitted a Racetorx gear shaft support and haven’t had the gear lever stay up at all but i do get it where i’ll change from 4th to 5th, it will go in to gear and lever will return to normal position, gear indicator will show - when i try to shift to 6th it wont shift, the lever moves up and down but doesn’t do anything. It is the shift Mechanism not moving correctly to allow a further gear shift hence the - as the gear position sensor isn’t in the correct place. It will stay like this for a few seconds then show 5 on the dash and i can then change to 6th.
    This isn’t the case of the QS being disabled for that shift as it has gone in to gear ok and did so with throttle in open position. If QS had been disabled i wouldn’t have been able to shift with throttle open.
    This is so annoying, it is spoiling a wicked bike. I have the suspension sorted now with my own settings and preload adjustments it felt soooo good at the weekend, even got the front wheel off the ground, by accident.

    Anyone got any idea on how to fix this?

    this had been answered before and found it;

    its is also likely to be a chain tension issue as in between the dogs in the gearbox engage when shifting gear, too much or too little chain slack will disrupt the momentum of the input and output shaft hanging up the dogs engagement, much more noticeable on a QS bike

    i had experienced what you said before but went away after chain is adjusted

    you can also adjust qs sensitivity in menu

    This issue is definitely not electrical meaning nothing to do with QS, It also isn’t anything i’m doing wrong, the bike has gone in to gear ok. it is definitely mechanical. I’ll check chain adjustment and see how it goes. If it does turn out to be chain tension related i wonder why. Never had any issues at all with my 20th anniversary model....

    hope that is the chain tension for you because otherwise if it’s still re-occouring (assuming it’s not trickled by clutch switch) the next logical step is to have a look at the wear tolerance in the selector and star, shiftforks and gears

    I've had it happen on mine, before and after the chain adjustment, told the Dealer on 1st service to check on test ride to see if it occurred, but it didnt, never happened on the 70 mile trip home either.

    Have this happen too on my 14 with translogic QS. Not an issue really. Gave all the moving parts a squirt of WD40 today to se if it will free up any tight spots on linkages.
