BMW contacted me yesterday to tell me they have confirmed my credentials and I am eligible for a $1750 discount on the new S1000RR due to me being a MSF instructor. This sweetens the pot for sure. Will a Repsol get traded on or will I try to cram 4 bikes into the already cramped garage? Thoughts?
No, no ,no, no.........buy 2 BMW’s, at the cheaper price it would be rude not to. Also, solves one of your previous questions for tracking it or not, as you can have one track and one road. Then cram all 5 in
Not availiable here until June / July will have a go on one be interested in your thoughts when you get your two.
Nope , not for me , just bought yesterday a new 1290 GT instead . Also first internal recall for the RR is already out.
Having read and looked a lot about this bike, I can say one thing: it will be an absolute monster! Especially in the M package I would like Honda to offer us something like that ...
Ok, so this is an old thread, but I didn't see the point in starting a new one.. (and I don't think I'm going to be a 2020 CBR1000RR-R type of guy).. I had a trip down to my local (35 miles away) BMW dealer to take a look at the 2019/2020 S1000RR and to discuss trade-in against my fireblade and what deals they have available. Maybe I'm still a bit green at 46 (good age I hope, makes me think of Mr Rossi), but I was surprised that there is pretty much no flexibility on price and they won't take my blade as a trade in.. @Spygoat how are you getting on with yours? Have you done many miles and have you had any major problems? I've seen reviews of bits of plastic around the knees cracking / falling off (but only.. £22 to replace).. A recall to do with oil circulation around the gearbox..? Riding my blade into work this morning I can't help but think the S1000RR can't be any better for a daily commute that is also handy on the odd track day..
Right now, the bike has 12 miles on it..lol. No issues, no complaints. It will be a track bike, I am just waiting on the race plastics and elimination bits I need to campaign it properly.
