I guess the dealership pre-registered it and it has been sitting in the showroom ever since.

Yes I’d agree but you’d of thought the dealer would have offloaded before now which makes me think a purchase by someone who’s just not

Strewth. But at the same time not surprised. I’ve fancied a ‘24. But no dealership has a demonstrator nor can I find any dealer that has sold a single one. They just aren’t selling, that’s the uncomfortable truth.

    Nope.

Has one owner who bought it and never used it, traded it in for the carbon model.the bikes exactly how it was delivered with the screen stickers still on.

was offered this a few weeks ago and seriously the thought about it, but probably go for a 22 upwards instead.

I wonder if he'll ride the Carbon, or just look at that one too?

I'd seriously consider this if I was in the market for the previous generation, depending on how much you could get a 22 for. The 22MY changes weren't massive, the biggest being the sprocket size changes and that's easily done.

Was exactly that, on a wooden stand in the garage so the tyres have only been on the floor going on the van to be delivered and into the garage

There was a 2016 SP in Smiths Chester in 2020 with this exact same story.

Bloke came in, paid in full and asked them to deliver it in a van. 4 years later he rang them up and asked them to bring the van to take it back. There was no £8k saving though, think it was even a bit more than the RRP. Obviously the 1 owner would have lost a bit.

Nope. I’m due to test ride a 21 plate tomorrow. Not overly enthusiastic to be honest given all the test reports and having sat on one at the NEC. But we will see. I fully expect it to confirm the previous gen I have to be a better road bike

If it is stock you'll find it pretty tame below 6500 rpm. It's a shame they chose such long gearing as it doesn't show the bike in it's best light. It is a mistake they corrected for the 22MY.

    Soooo

    The ‘21 Fireblade vs the ‘18 Fireblade……

    Positives

    • Beautifully built

    • Suspension is sublime

    • It burbles epically on a mid throttle and the overrun. I have an erection just thinking about it

    • It is face meltingly fast

    The negatives

    • There is zero midrange. It feels like a 2 stroke. There is a sudden surge at 5k. Great fun but it is gutless below 5k. Bear in mind I love strokers and have owned one or 2 most of my life but I want more out of a thou.

    • It is seriously uncomfortable around town. The weight on your wrists and the pretzel footpeg position . Get her out of town and the discomfort miraculously disappears.

    Other observations….

    • On the Whaley to Buxton Road (A5004), I didn’t change out of second. So happy to Rev and felt epic. Handles soooo well, sounds so violent that I’ve got yet another erection.

    • I had convinced myself that I could buy one and enjoy it. But then I got back on the ‘18 for home. Much comfier, a midrange to die for and it feels so much smaller. And the bloody thing is still face meltingly fast. If you rode the ‘18 as the new bike, you’d be blown away by the improvements over the older ‘21.

So sadly it is a no from me.

Sounds very similar to the test ride I had and the first few months of ownership. However, a sprocket change to 15/42, a new end can and a map made a big difference, to the extent that I'm not sure I'd go back to the SC77 now.

Can you recalibrate the traction control etc for a sprocket change on the current blade. I know tyre size changes etc on the SC77 are a no no
