Hi, I have purchased from eBay (by mistake) a 40 tooth goldish Renthal rear sprocket.
My questions are 1) What affect will this have on performance?
    2) Do I need a different size chain, or will the adjusters take up the slack?
    3) Does it affect the speedo reading?
    4) Should I just sell it on and keep with the OEM one.

Thanks guys. From The Great Guy.

The 40 tooth will decrease the acceleration and increase the top end.

If the pitch isn't the same as the the chain and front sprocket you will need to change them both, if it is then you may have to either replace the chain or take a link out.

Think I've got that the right, sure someone will confirm.

As above, unless its an 04/05 bike which has the 40T as standard, but a 42T works much better.
