Hi all, I'm after some help from those in the know, hopefully someone is willing. I have a 2003 954rr with gearbox issues. When going up through the gears and selecting 4th, the gear will select but then as soon as you put the power on it will slip out of 4th select a false neutral then go back down to 3rd. I'm confident enough in opening it up to have a look, I was just wandering if anyone has an abbreviated method of doing so or if anyone has any tips or pointers. Thanks in advance for any help
That's exactly the way my old 954 went , I sold it on , and the lad that bought it had to pay nearly €1k to get it fixed , I was looking into getting a complete 2nd hand gearbox from eBay , but everyone I found you could see wear on the dogs so I was afraid of that happening again, It happened to another lad on one of the Irish forums and he bought new gears and had them undercut to stop it happening again
I have a 954. After complimenting me on how clean it is , most aficionados of the breed ask me if 4th gear is okay on it. Your issue is more of a trait on the 02/03 than the lack of power is on Repsols. Sorry chum.
