So I brought a power commander on eBay for a decent price, it was the serial port old school version. fitted to bike (two connectors on right hand side under tank) and soldered the earth into battery negative. After some faffing with serial cables downloaded right maps onto it (air filter and Akro slip on). Didn't start. Fuel injectors did there thing but just turns and didn't fire. Reset map to stock bike. Still nothing. Set all maps to zero values, nothing and same symptoms, turns but dosent fire. Thoroughly annoyed, took off power commander and reconnected stock connections, fully expecting bike to start. Does same thing. Fuel Injectors come on, bike turns but does not fire. All connections I have checked and double checked. Bike battery is good and new rectifier less than a year ago - so am I missing something? Any advice much appreciated.

WD40 the kill switch just in case and then check the fuses, you may have blown one on install.

There are three kill switches that kill the ignition. Prop stand switch, handlebar kill switch and the tilt switch in the cock pit. Since the pump is priming the injectors it points that one of the above circuits is open. Getting a used PC is not a good idea have seen many that came off a crashed bike that malfunctioned. Electronics get effected by impacts same applies to alarms.

So kill switch is in run. Didnt touch or go near other two on install. Definatly not in gear, fuses all good aswell. True about the PC which is why I'm getting rid but why she isn't starting without it now, I don't know. Must be something simple as she dosent even feel like she is attempting to fire up....

I had a similar thing the first time I fitted a PCV. I know you said the battery was OK but give it a good charge first, should be above 13v standing. Also trying to start without firing up may have flooded the motor a bit and fouled the plugs so check this too. Be careful not the over turn the starter, as I recency found out it can burn out very quicky!

My bad, dodgy earth wiring on the battery terminal, just needed tightening up. So map installed and bike starting nicely, what's the best set up for the pc? Currently I set low, medium, high to mid on the buttons - any ideas what works and whats not so good?
