Looks like you all ( except for the young girl) lol had a great evening .Glad the weather kept good for you .
No lighting mate.... it was pitch black and left my flash in the bag...so all 25,000 iso on the night ones hence the grain. Not much post at all dude...just muted the colours a bit on the daytime shots.
Great shots, you've defo a great eye for it, easy to have a camera, not so easy to see great shots and hit the button. You got to love that high ISO
You have mate! i love it. I was playing with the Nikon D810 the other day...the dr on that is insane at high iso...you can really pull the shadows without banding and noise... But , the "look" of the files from the 5D3 to me, are a lot better... And the 24-105 is a killer lens for a do it all "one lens does the lot" bit of glass.
It's funny how some of the "cheaper" glass pulls out such great images, I love the 24-105 it's such a great lens, super sharp IMO and at RRP of about 450-500 what's not to like, took a couple of quick shots today of my just in 100mm macro! Mate as you said I love it, amazing IQ and GREAT portrait lense! Fine fingers needed for good free hand max macro but like it a LOT! And again cost wise no need for any more to be spent.
I'd LOVE a 135L but it wouldn't get used at all... Still holding out for a 70-200 2.8, but moneys gone on the lads new pc... I use the 24-105 90% of the time, the other percent is used by the 17-40...the 100 and the 50 hardly ever gets used. I last used the 100L for a mates ring shots for his wedding.. but it really is a fab lens. I always use a tripod for it though... If you want a tripod.... have a look at this: Ex-Pro TRIPOD60 Heavy Duty with Pro Ball Head - Camera / Camcorder Tripod (670mm - 1500mm / 59") - ExproDirect For the money, it's insane... i sold my Manfrotto with top end ball head when i bought the Ex-pro. Built like a tank. I think barney ordered one too....
Crap that's super cheap, I have a MF carbon tripod and ball head, cost me 500 quid! But my old tripod was somewhat out done with the gripped 5D, x2 mk3 and a 70-200, I figured that 500 quid was a small price to pay over seeing my gear smash into the deck one dark cold night shooting stars or whatever! But now, I'm feeling sad...lol I have lots of products I need to shoot and detailed images so the macro will be great! Some say the 135 is a little too long but still it looks great, with so many great lenses the kit bags getting bigger and bigger...haha..but hay, life's short. How's that PC, did you get one from Nova?
It certainly is mate.... but we can't help ourselves LOL. As for Nova...yup been in touch with them, and got a great price....but there's a lad down the road with a computer shop (he gives me business so thought it would be better giving him some in return) that i've asked for a build for him...So waiting on a price. The best price gets the money mate... the good thing is, that if it goes tits for some reason, there's no RMA for the pc to get down south, the local chap is easy and logistics is better to get sorted.
I'd do the same mate, and good luck to him it's hard running a small business as we both know, support from loyal customers is a must. Nova are not far from me so good place for me to buy for those very reasons, the system I built for Cam is ripping, small driver issue but sorted now, mainboard configs it's self so no sweat, plug her up, power on, install OS, job done, he can clock it later if he wants or add another graphics card, by the way it scores x1.5 with two cards so near double performance with two cards in SLI, we tested same spec PC with two! Well worth while IMO. Also he has two spare DDR slots so can bump from 16Gb ram to 32! Nice!
I had a carbon fibre Gitzo given to me by Gitzo when it was launched as a promo, along with a Gitzo acid etched Leatherman. We all got them. Within days, we'd all flogged them on. Lol. Wish I'd kept it now as I'm not even allowed to pick my Manfrotto up for another month, it's soooo heavy. Kept the Leatherman though. That Ex-Pro is ludicrously cheap, but no! I must be strong.
The Ex-pro is a tad heavy, but it's stable as. An absolute bargain for the build quality etc... i'm chuffed with it.
Amazing price, will forward to a mate on a budget and needs a good tripod, think he is going to PC World for a 5D3 kit on finance!
To be honest, the carbon ones did what carbon is design to do, stay strong while they were being twisted, but twist they did. I wonder what a pro-gripped 5D with one of these monsters plugged into it Sigma Imaging UK | 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | S in a stiff breeze would be like on one
If he hasn't invested in Canon glass, tell him to have a play with the Nikon D810...or the D750.. Amazing sensors for dynamic range. Both full frame too.
