Had that shiny SP of Danny's in bits in the garage the last few days.. Fitted a BMC race air filter, plugged off the air intake flapper vacuum pipes, and fitted an Akrapovic full system..
he hasn't seen it in real life yet.. he's still away working but I sent a few tasty video's of the rasp.. sounds great, I recon it will spit flames on the quick shifter..
SP booked in for a PCV and O2 next friday, will also get my '06 bird on the dyno again for another custom map after the winter shenanigans with gutting the cat / race air filters and gutting air intake.. might not make anymore power but smooth is good
You are the man Kev! I could get used to going away to work and having my bike upgraded every time though
Looks good Danny! How did the system fit Kev? Who did suspension set up too Danny might get mine done! Hopefully get more miles on mine when I get back only done 241 now! :-(
system was fine once I figured it out! thought I had the wrong parts for a while haha.. about a 4hr job to fit (although to be fair its the first time I've taken an SP to bits) Suspension - both Danny and I went to Knockhill to see Eddie Stone.. pretty impressed with the results for £90
Aye Aye Bob, as Kev has previously said we took a trip to see Eddie @ ERS racing and he set the bikes up for us, Definitely worth the £90 and Knockhill isnt too bad a run either for knocking some miles up. Drop me or Gilesy a PM on here if your wanting to get out for a run, Im home on Wednesday for 3 weeks and were off to Cromarty that Friday for some rolling road fun.
Eddie initially set the bike up to our height/weight etc then we went on numerous test runs and fiddled around with it until we got the best fit for both of us. Gilesy had not long had his Matris fork kit so he saw a lot more benfit than me as I was happy with the SP in Stock trim but he has sharpened it up and im more than happy with it.
Wow very nice indeed! Why oh why wasn't at least the akra slipon on the sp stock.. Looks great well done Gilesy, could become the northern arthur at this rate carries on with such great work
haha thanks LC... but I'm just a part timer for fun, Arthur is an artist! but the Sp should have also had a QS as standard as well IMO
hi gilesy bought an akra full race system for my sp had it in to honda garage to be fitted but they cant get it to fit without touching the left hand side of the belly pan fairing been on to performance parts they say they have sold a few with no fitting troubles at all, they have tried fitting it from the end can forward still no joy PP getting akrapovic involved now any suggestions?
Ha Ha, looks great that. What else you got planned for it.. My man wants, March... wheels, Brembo RCS master, Clutch perch, LiPO Battery, Brembo underslung rear caliper, BIN the R&G tidy for something nicer. I am off to dyno next week so will post up what we can do with the full long Arrow, PCV, SFM and filter, bike feels real strong now so hope for some reasonable numbers. If it makes too much power maybe time to pull my motor haha.
Colin, Eddie spend about an hour with each bike.. set up the sag, ride height, compression (high and low), rebound and took it for about 25 miles of riding before letting us loose on it.. I then took it for 2 x 5 mile runs with minor tweaks till both Eddie and I were happy with the bike.. Same for Danny's - worth it in my opinion..
Trouty - it was a bit fiddly to set up if I'm honest.. they just need to percivier with all the angles starting from the down pipes.. exactly what I had to do as at one point, I thought they had given me the wrong parts! in the end, I fitted the can to the splitter pipe and then the 2 x further splitters, then lined all 4 pipes up under the bike.. was the only way I could get it spot on.. and Danny's is not touching anything.. Nip up to Aberdeen if your struggling
Danny is looking at Wheels as well! booked into HMD tuning next friday for its PCV and dyno.. I hope she doesn't embarrass the old carbon '06 girl! hopefully my bike gets within 20hp of the SP, but probably wishful thinking.. going to get shorter throttle kits next for both the bikes.. its neeeeeeevvvvvveeeeerrrr ending haha
We are looking at gold marchesini COMPE or M7's, I think for visual impact I'd go for the M7 for the full SB look, let's hope the old 06 don't slip too far behind lol I'd strongly recommend not riding that SP too much
As Kev has said, next upgrades im looking to do in no set order..... Brembo Master Cylinder Marchesini Wheels Brembo rear caliper Quick action throttle Kev is going to be a busy boy HAHA!!
