Please check your oil every ride guys, don't presume it's ok just because it was fine on your last ride! I have ruined my summer don't ruin yours
Oh nooooooo seized ? Feel for you buddy my rr6 didn't use a drop on track days or on a 3000 mile euro trip did you get a oil warning light ?
If it is the replacement engine route buddy ill come and bang one in on a day on weekend no bother .hope it's not to serious though
The bike still starts but has a Nasty rattle/knock. Not sure what damage is done but I'm pretty skint right now Only went for a quick blast to test the new exhaust, pretty gutted as missed most of last season due to my knee replacement so was really looking forward to some riding
Oh dear sorry to hear that Martin, hope its not too terminal, I would be interested to hear if you got any warning, i.e. dash light etc. Nice offer Wedgie warms the heart when fellow forum members are willing to put themselves out to help others in need.
Rattles and bangs are not good I would say something gave up rather than low oil as I'm sure you would get a light , feel for you . See if yorkshiregooner can help out he is a good chap he might have summat lying in corner of his unit
Unfortunately the turbo gave up on the car too last week so not my month lol, that and low on cash due to time off from my operations I will have to get a cheap run around to transport the kids, fix the car when I have enough cash and then the bike after so may be a while until I can afford the bike but will give Yorkshire gooner a call when I got some cash
Sorry about that dude and hope it pans out .One question how many miles have you done since "The bike had its dealer service" or since you did the oil change ? As I imagine that you would have to do a lot of miles to even have low oil.Has there been enough in to start with?
Anyone know how easy it its to remove and strip the engine yourself? Is it worth trying something myself to save cash?
Seen a rr5 in the local honda shop, had a serious rattle. The tensioner had broke and dropped into the engine. Owner was lucky enough that very little damage was done.
Oh damn mate. i really hope its not that bad, is it certainly low oil level that has caused this problem ?
